Today P1-5 were delighted to have a visit from author and illustrator Mairi Hedderwick. Mairi spent all morning at school and took 2 sessions for us. Firstly with P4/5 where she told them about being an author and the process of writing a book.
After that she was with P1-3, she told us about how she became and author and how she got the idea for writing the Katie Morag stories. She also re-told us the story of Katie Morag and the Tiresome Ted and then showed us a powerpoint presentation of Katie Morag and the Dancing Class.
P1-3 loved the stories and getting to see the pictures on the big screen. Our favourite thing was when Mairi brought out the Tiresome Ted and we got to pass it around and give it a hug!
Some of us bought a book from Mairi and got her to sign it for us.
