What's it like to live on an Island?

Today p1-3 started our collaborative topic. Our big question is "what's it like to live on an Island" and we're using the Katie Morag books as a starting point.

In groups we made thought webs of all the questions we want to know about life on an island:
- what shops do you have
- when does the ferry come
- what jobs do people have
- what are the houses like
- do you have the Internet
- what happens when it's really stormy
- what games do you play

By the end of our topic we hope to know the answers to all our questions.

We then moved round 5 different groups:
- island role play
- construction
- story CD "Katie Morag and the dancing class"
- Katie morag's house
- designing a poster for the dance class

We had great fun this afternoon and look forward to a super topic!
